Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair @ Shore Church Nov. 16

It’s been a while since I was able to post on my blogspot. I’ve been busy sewing for the upcoming craft show at our church, which is  a fundraiser for Rainbow Years Learning Ministry. RYLM is such a wonderful place for the children when mom and dad are working. We love all the teachers and how they care for each child. I will have handi-towels, (double towels), soap bottle aprons, catnip mice, baked potato bags, hankie bonnets for newborns, gift card/money holders, and a few child-adult aprons I found, and who knows what else?! I’m excited since I haven’t done a show for quite a while.
I used to make stone birdhouses and had a shop near Topeka (Yoder Popcorn drive), but we have since moved, and I closed the shop, sold parts of the business to other talented ladies, and only sell items wholesale to local shops. This frees up my time to help care for my 99 yr. old mother-in-law, and my 97 yr. old mother......along with our 5 yr. old granddaughter a couple days a week, and we’ve been accumulating animals around here, which take time to care for.
So, come on out Saturday in a week, and visit, shop, and eat! RYLM is serving a lunch and they have some great cooks. Looking forward to the 16th.

OPEN TODAY!

J

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW WE WILL BE OPEN TODAY FROM 9 TO 1. If you can't come until after one, just call me, if I'm here I'll open up for you.  Garage Sale prices today on everything.  I'm closing the shop.  Come on over, we'll talk. :)

Saturday, April 22, 2017

Bird's Nest will not be opening with regular hours this summer, instead we plan to be open the first saturday of each month with a GARAGE/BARN SALE.  Which means, May 6 we will be open from 9 to 4. You should be able to find some great bargains.  We usually look for things that you can repurpose that will look great in your home. Chalk paint really does wonders!....I had a blanket chest and  side table refinished this winter, and can't wait to use them in our new home. Please share and let others know to come May 6, or any other first saturday.  We also have a few of my mother-in-laws things to sell, along with my daughters, and others....so it should be a large sale.  I'll have a few of the new items that I make, like aprons, etc. too.
See you then.

END OF ANOTHER SEASON

I am closing the shop for the season. If you need anything, and I am at home and available, I will be happy to
come out and open for you.  Just give me a call. or e-mail me.  If you want to order anything for Christmas, I should be able to have it ready for pick up in two weeks.  Thanks to all the friends who stopped in this summer, it was great.  God bless each of you with a wonderful winter.  See you in the spring.  Karen

AUCTIONS, AUCTIONS, AUCTIONS, LOVE EM AND HATE EM

I always get excited in the spring to go to a good auction, but by the time it's over, I'm exhausted!  The fun part is unloading the truck and seeing what "treasures" are in the box you picked up for $2.00. The hard part is "lugging" everything to the truck to bring it home.  :)  Last night I hired a young man to help....that was great!  But I didn't get the one item I really wanted...double wash tubs.

Just wanted to post a few pictures of a few of the new items.  You'll have to come visit the shop to see it all.  It's really full right now, and the glass birdfeeders are selling well.  If you're like us you're enjoying watching all the birds arriving in your backyard.  I've heard the orioles are back in force, and we had our first humming bird this week.  Grandma has enjoyed watching the birdbath...we have one robin especially that just loves it!  I was closed today,  (Thursday), but kept opening up for people that stopped in...and so far it was my busiest day this year.  I told a neighbor "Maybe I should be closed everyday...! I seem to be busier than when I'm open."  Don't take me wrong...I enjoyed it, visiting with friends is fun any day.
